Rustic Piggery

At this farmhouse, the client wanted to create a terraced area for entertaining where there was an existing run down sandstone piggery. Our concept was to rebuild and extend the piggery in a rustic ruin fashion incorporating and extending the existing split level terraces using Indian stone paving to maintain a natural feel. This created a courtyard style entertaining area within the ruin sandstone walls, which incorporated the original troughs that could now be used as planters. The walls were subtly lit using sunken uplighters which cast ambient light and shadows across the terrace.
